Ann K. Levy Memorial Scholarship Winner Announced
The winner of the Ann K. Levy Scholarship was announced at the One Goal Summer Conference. Congratulations to Beverly Kamp, who will use the scholarship to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in early care and education!
The Ann K. Levy Scholarship was created in recognition of the distinguished career of Ann K. Levy, Ph.D., in the field of early childhood education in Florida. As a teacher, program director, legislative staff director, adjunct professor, and staunch child advocate, Dr. Levy worked tirelessly on behalf of young children. She served on many local, state, and national boards and advisory groups and was recognized for her exemplary service to children and those who educate and care for them as a recipient of the Chiles Advocacy Award, the Budd Bell Child Advocate of the Year Award, and the Nancy Thomas Collaboration Award.
"This scholarship will serve as a lasting tribute to the incredible work of a gracious and special early childhood advocate. We are humbled to honor Ann in this manner and applaud Beverly who embodies the spirit and passion for young children that Ann emulated in the areas of leadership, academic success, and the determination to demand high-quality programs for young children and their families," stated Dr. Phyllis Kalifeh, President & CEO of the Children's Forum.
The Children’s Forum established the Ann K. Levy Scholarship to honor her legacy and impact on the early care and education workforce. The scholarship is awarded to an individual who is a resident of Florida, works in a Florida early learning program, and wishes to pursue a Bachelor degree in early childhood education.
All of the proceeds contributed to the scholarship fund go directly to support deserving early childhood practitioners in their quest for higher education.
